Could not connect to lockdown

There is a similar error called lockdown error -5.  Both errors are really nothing more then timeout errors.  I would expect that in time GreenPois0n will resolve this, but for now the fix is really easy.  FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!  Yes, I missed this step because I did not think I had that much on my iphone, guess I was wrong.   So make sure you do the following..

1. Make a backup of your device in iTunes by right clicking on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu and click ‘Back Up’.

2. Once your backup is complete return to your device and go to Settings – General – Reset – Erase all Content and Settings. This will make the jailbreak process much faster.

Once I did this, it was a very smooth process.  BTW, be patient.  It take time to restore from the backup.  Much longer then I thought.

So if we can assume its going to be the same A5 chips as we see in the iPhone4s and Ipad2, then the current jailbreaks should work as a good starting point. Two separate tools were released for jailbreaking A5 based devices, one was Absinthe for Mac by the Chronic Dev Team, and the other one, which was a command line-based tool for both Windows and Mac users by the iPhone Dev Team.  Read more here.

I do expect there will be a few odd things with the firmware on the iPad HD, so do not expect any of these jailbreaks to work out of the box, but barring a significant iOS update or new chip, it should not take more then a few weeks at most.

The first major issue is that the Absinthe webclip “Error establishing a database connection”. The iPhone Dev-Team blog suggested users to go to Settings, turn on VPN and wait instead.

“Toggle VPN only after Absinthe says it’s done, or it will not work,” the blog added. “VPN should error and then reboot soon. If it does not, rerun Absinthe!”

The iPhone Dev-Team also said the OS X version of the CLI (command-line interface) is “primarily to help us debug specific issues, but tinkerers might like to play around with some of its advanced options!”

Meanwhile, the hacker community also offered further help. The French hacker pod2g tweeted,
