August 21, 2012 | perivision | Leave a comment Remember the crowd-funding effort to build a museum to honor scientist Nikola Tesla that Matthew Inman, creator of the Oatmeal started? Well guess what. In a week he already reached his goal of $850,000. Wow. The funds will be used to buy land in Shoreham, N.Y., where Tesla’s last laboratory was located. Now this does not mean there will be a museum there right away, in fact, this was just to cover buying the land. More money still needs to be raised to build on it, but that can be another crowd-funding effort. There is still plenty of time to kick some $$ into this effort. Check out some of the cool things you can get. Perks for your contribution $3 Tesla loves the number 3 And if you donate $3, Tesla will love you too. If he were alive today he’d totally high-five you and compliment your haircut and/or mustache. Claim this Perk ▶2434 Claimed $25 Photo of Nikola Tesla An 8×10 photo of Tesla, printed on glossy paper.
