Vanity URLs for social media. First it started with Twitter, and that was default.  twitter.com/perivision.  Can be any more perfect then that.  In fact, that is (IMHO) one of the reason Twitter took off.  Facebook followed up and so did LinkedIn.  And now we have gplus.to

I’m not sure if this is sponsored by google or just somebody with a really smart idea putting something up at the right time in the right place, but lots of people I know on Google+ are grabbing these.  And did I.

We’ll see what happends here. As far as I can tell, this is not an ‘official’ google site or service, but sometimes, the first to the party with the right music, sets the mood for the rest of the night.

If its not, it would be pretty easy for Google to come up with something like this but instead of people having to rush to get their names, they can simply use your google ID (normally you email address).

So if you have not scored your gplus vanity URL yet, get on it before someone else grabbed it.
