Oh lets hope so.  Its total rumor, but I just read on androidandme.com that t-mobile will be updating 3G myTouch phones.  That COULD also mean the Google Ion I/O phones we got in 2009, aka, the Magic.

For those of you who still have your Google Ions, it has been stuck at 1.6 forever just like the myTouch.  I have been trying to find a way to upgrade it with little luck.  However with this new announcement, we could get 2.2 and hope over hope, multi-sense???

So  although the myTouch is official, there is not guarantee, that the Ion phones will be updated even though we saw on running at the I/O show. I did not see it in person, so I do not know how well it ran on the weak processor, but from what I’m told, the new OS is suppose to be faster then the 1.6 we have now, so again, that could be a full win for HTC touch/magic users.

I’ll keep you all posted as I hear more or find my HTC magically updated. 🙂
