I have around 6 or 7 posts just on biking and the iphone, so you should have a look at this link.. http://www.perivision.net/wordpress/?tag=gps One option you can explore is getting an ipod touch with a plugin GPS. Non of the app that I know of work with the xGPS system yet, however, I'm writing some code right now that will take raw GPX data and create graphs and maps for those who do not have the iphone. As for NPR, well, you could always download a few pod casts and then play them on your ride. 🙂

Your information on the iPhone GPS/Mapping is very interesting as I need to get (ok, want) a soundsystem for Der Twike, and it needs to be small (obviously iPod, BUT which one? And I WANT Digital Radio for NPR!). Also would like a GPS-Nav system for when I'm out in the sticks around C-U, as it's much safer (and more pleasant) to stay on the country roads nobody uses. I mean some days I feel like blasting at 45-55mph, but most days I prefer to stay at high-end bicycling speeds (18-25).

Your info has been most helpful, though I still haven't made the decision yet… time to ask if I can borrow the iPhone from work 😉
